DAY 43...Make No Mistake
"What I see around me would drive me insane if I did not know that no matter what happens, God will have the last word." -Saint Paisios
What is going on in the world? Innocent people are killed by radical groups everyday. What are we to think? What are we to do. Christians are being slaughtered and they are unquestionably they are members of the most persecuted religion in the world.
People go to Church on Sundays with Christ in their hearts, and joyful to pray and they are bombed. Over 45 Coptic Orthodox Christians were killed in Egypt on Palm Sunday when bombs went off at different Churches.

"If God is for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31
How can you not be anything but utterly heartbroken over this? The Coptic Church released this statement following the blasts. It is absolutely tragic the way humans treat other humans. Death is tragic. But make no mistake, death is defeated. In just a few short days, we'll bear witness to that again. Is there any better way to die than worshiping God?
There are people who risk their lives to be what we are so freely. The very act of going to Church is an act of defiance toward death and fear. It is self denial knowing the possibility that they may be in physical danger. They do it anyway.
We must not be fearful in anything. We must not be afraid even in our sins, that we can overcome them. God helps us. We, like those who go to Church regardless of the fact that they could suffer for it, must deny ourselves. They may have the desire to not go because of the danger, and then go anyway. We might have the desire to do something sinful, but choose not to anyway. They are our examples in the big things so that we can be strong in the smaller things.
Be strong, knowing that even in this tragic fallen world, God still wins.
