DAY 53...The Opposite of Love

“It's better to feel pain, than nothing at all. The opposite of love's indifference” - The Lumineers, Stubborn Love

Today, we're gonna start with this song:
On the surface it almost seems like a love song about a couple. It opens,
"She'll lie and steal and cheat. And beg you from her knees. Make you think she means it this time.
she'll tear a hole in you, one you can't repair. But I still love her, I don't really care."

On the surface, one may want to say, "Dude, you're being taken advantage of! Let her go!"

But perhaps the song is not about a couple of lovers but that of a Father and his child. And so it is with OUR Father and us His children. God isn't mad at you when you sin as much as He hurts for you. Parents know this feeling. While kids can be a pain some times, it is more than that. We have all hurt our parents in some way, but good parents are always there to help us when we fail, or fall down.

Now, wrapping us in His love, we can not feel indifference to our actions. We must love back. We must do whatever we can to feel that love and change. When we begin to feel indifferent about our actions, we are doing the opposite of loving God. Don't get numb, change, grow, jump, scream. GET UP! Don't just lay there.

"So keep your head up. Keep your love!"
Today's Instructions:
A. Pray for the day, for friends, for family, for enemies. Thanksgiving, Requests, Praise.
B. In the Fortify Program, Update the battle tracker. Go to week eight and check out "Time to Get Serious" and "What Do you Expect From an Accountability Partner?"
C. Go to the daily readings and read today's Scripture.
D. Journal the following: 1. How do you react to something that you feel indifferent about? 2. How do you react to something you love or hate?

Today's Tips: When the urges come get up. Stop. Breathe. Pray. Go for a walk. Exercise.

God give you strength. See you tomorrow.
